We are now seeking a highly dynamic, strategic and ambitious Executive Director of Communications and External Affairs to lead the long-term audience strategy of the British Red Cross, ensuring our relevance and impact in the public and policy discourse that connects to Strategy 2030. Their approach will be both strategic and dynamic in the moment, leading a talented team of people to maximise our effectiveness. In partnership with the CEO and alongside Executive Leadership Team colleagues, you will help provide clear and focussed leadership for the whole organisation, playing a key role in taking forward an ambitious organisational change agenda and delivering Strategy 2030.

Politically savvy and highly strategic, the appointee will bring significant experience of influencing at the highest levels. You will help us to tell a compelling, coherent and unified story across the breadth of our communication activities. Bold, compassionate, and highly collaborative, you will have considerable leadership experience and a proven ability to bring people together around a vision. You will also understand the challenges and opportunities inherent to working collaboratively in a large and complex organisation. With a deep commitment to a positive working culture with people at its heart, you will have a demonstrable passion for the work of the British Red Cross and a commitment to our Fundamental Principles and organisational values.

Perrett Laver will conduct an executive search process in parallel with the public advertisement of the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview with Perrett Laver in late April and the Selection Panel will subsequently meet to decide upon a final shortlist for the post in early May, following which, interviews with the Selection Committee will take place in late May and early June.
