The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America’s national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention.

An international leader in scholarship on the Holocaust, the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies provides for continued growth and vitality in the field of Holocaust studies, promotes networking and cooperative projects among Holocaust scholars around the world, and ensures future generations of Holocaust scholars in the United States and abroad.
The Director, International Research Programs is a newly created position, housed within the Mandel Center and reporting to the Director of International Academic Programs. This position is responsible for promoting the vitality of research in the field of Holocaust studies around the world through international conferences and research workshops as well as programs related to Ukraine. The Director will establish close working relationships with scholars and partner organizations and manage team members in these areas, guiding the team in strategic thinking and choices within the available set of staff and financial resources. We welcome applications from candidates with a scholarly background in the field, and experience in managing teams, running academic programs, measuring success and building international partnerships.
