At Northumberland Cricket Board (NCB), we aim to inspire a passion for cricket and to grow and nurture the game across all of Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside.  We are strong advocates for the role the game plays in its local communities and are passionate about the impact that sport, and cricket, in particular, can have on people’s lives.

Our ambition is for cricket to be at the forefront of communities across the County who say that “cricket is a game for me”, inspiring people to discover and share their passion for cricket.

We now seek to appoint a Director (NED) with a financial focus to join our Board. The role will provide leadership to build on our successes to date in developing cricket in the area. Working closely with the rest of the Board and the executive team, they will help ensure an open, inclusive, accessible sport for all and unlock new and exciting opportunities for growth.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong understanding of contemporary governance and a proven commitment to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. Bringing to bear strong ambassadorial skills and a partnership-based approach, they will help us to forge strong links across the diverse communities in the area. Visible and committed, they will have the capacity to enable positive outcomes for the game and the communities we serve.

Location: Remote working with meetings in the office where required.

Office: Benwell Hill Cricket Club, West Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE15 7EU.

Remuneration: Voluntary with reasonable expenses covered.

Term: 3 years, which can be, upon review, extended to two consecutive terms.

Time Commitment: The anticipated time commitment for the Board Director (Finance) is circa one to two days per month, inclusive of board meetings and preparation. The Board currently meets monthly.
