The University is located on a beautiful campus within the historic city of Winchester and is proud to be recognised for its work in preparing students for success. Its primary and secondary initial teacher training programmes are rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

We are now seeking to appoint a new Dean of the Faculty of Education and the Arts. Reporting to a Pro Vice-Chancellor and working as part of the University’s Executive Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership of the Faculty, identifying areas of growth and development and supporting colleagues in realising opportunities. This is an exciting time to be joining the University, with a new Vice-Chancellor and a new Strategic Plan supported by a suite of enabling strategies.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring, visionary and entrepreneurial individual with significant experience in Teacher Education in HE, alongside a strong interest in the Arts and a track record of leading interdisciplinary work and initiatives. The successful candidate will balance leadership with strategic external engagement. They will have a commitment to student education, experience and outcomes and research as a force for good. They will have a clear ambition to grow the Faculty.
