The School of Data Science (SDS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) aims at building a world-class interdisciplinary research and educational center for data science. We seek applicants for Full Professor position:

Tenured full professor in Computer Science

This position is open to individuals with expertise in, or related to, the following areas:

• Embedded systems, parallel and distributed systems, computer architecture;
• Theoretical computer science, algorithms;
• Text, audio, and speech processing;
• Human-computer interface.

Applicants must have a well-established record of research and teaching accomplishments and have demonstrated scientific creativity and leadership with externally funded and highly visible research programmes. Candidates should have strong methodological foundations in one or more of the following areas: Computer Science, Operations Research, Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Management Science, and other closely related areas. We especially encourage individuals to apply whose interests and backgrounds are at the intersection of multiple areas, as well as candidates combining industry experience with academic excellence.

Teaching duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses offered by the SDS in its multiple programmes, as well as mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Appointees would ideally be in mid-career. CUHK-Shenzhen welcomes applications from candidates with distinguished records who would contribute to the gender and geographic diversity of the faculty.
