Winner of ‘MAT of the Year’ 2023, E-ACT is one of the highest performing Multi Academy Trusts in England. As a National Sponsor, E-ACT leads 28 academies which are 100% good or outstanding for leadership. E-ACT work across 10 local authority areas and 5 DfE Regions. The trust has circa 18’000 pupils and 2800 staff.

As national trust focused on developing the whole child, E-ACT works closely with local communities, with an ethos of inclusion and supporting the wider needs of students.

E-ACT have invested in significant additional leadership capacity including National Directors of Secondary, Primary and SEND, and trust expertise in Safeguarding, Behaviour, Attendance, curriculum development and reading.  Focused on developing an enriched curriculum offer, ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum that furnishes pupils with the knowledge and skills they need for their future educational journey and careers.

Outcomes at KS2 in 2022 and 2023 were above national average, improving against a picture of national decline.   At KS4, in 2022, attainment at Grade 5+ in English and Maths increased by 11% compared to 2019, more than twice the national improvement. This has been maintained in 2023 against the 2019 benchmark. In KS5, outcomes have steadily improved with increases in average points scores in both A Level and in vocational programmes.

E-ACT is on an exciting journey and is looking for Trustees that can further develop its existing track record.

E-ACT’s Trustees play a crucial role in the governance of the Trust and are ultimately responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Trust board and for the organisation.

E-ACT are open to hearing from individuals from the wider world of education, or from public, private, or charitable organisations, who have a vested interest in the progression of the state and Multi Academy Trust sectors. We are particularly interested in those who could bring any of the following skills to our Board: education, estates and IT, HR, and experience of leading in public, private, or charitable organisations.

We are committed to being representative of the communities that we serve and would therefore particularly welcome interest from those who would increase the diversity of our Board.

It is our priority to continue to encourage our children to believe in their own power to change their lives. Therefore, if you have a passion for the importance of education, to the children in our academies and their contribution to wider society and if you share in our ambitions and values, we would be delighted to hear from you.
