Tackling Today’s Challenges for a Better Tomorrow
A unique not for profit International Development company, Crown Agents works in partnership with our clients to design and implement practical solutions to their needs. Since 1833 Crown Agents has been empowering leaders to accelerate self-sufficiency and prosperity for their communities, businesses, institutions and countries, reaching over 120 million people a year (in 2022) in 86 countries. We work with ministries, governments, institutions, donors, foundations, philanthropists and the private sector to tackle the complex challenges they face, whether that’s seeking to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), improving the quality of life and opportunities for their citizens, responding to the needs of a global pandemic or the largest war in Europe for 70 years.
We are now seeking an outstanding, energetic, passionate and highly ambitious individual to join our Executive Team to drive the next stage of our growth. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Business Development Officer will lead, invigorate and develop business growth across the business with a particular emphasis on our Supply Chain cluster. As a key member of our Executive Team, you will participate in corporate decision making, advocating and implementing policies and strategies throughout the organisation. You will represent Crown Agents to governments, donors, partners, the international development community, and other stakeholders.
This role offers a unique opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion to bring lasting change all over the world, and across a multitude of disciplines. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude as shown by a proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategy in an international context. You will bring strength in engaging with clients, from donors, to corporates, high net worth individuals and governments, with a track record of winning work and inspiring teams to deliver work. Crucially, you will bring credibility and integrity to inspire the team and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills, ambition and a strong commercial acumen and, most importantly, will be demonstrably aligned with our mission, values and goals.
For over 190 years, we have worked where the world’s greatest needs and the greatest challenges converge. Do you thrive on leading teams to build innovative and sustainable programmes that deliver at scale? If you do and you enshrine our values of courage and authenticity then we would love to hear from you.
To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification, quoting reference 0074. The deadline for applications is 9am BST Friday 29th September.
The role can be based globally. We would expect someone based outside of the UK to have an initial period of time at the London HQ for orientation. The salary is competitive with the market rate and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
