The Devon Cricket Foundation is the governing body responsible for the recreational game in the county. Our team of staff and volunteers work to enhance cricket locally and deliver on our belief that it is a game for everyone. We are now entering an exciting stage in our development as we transition into a trust and start to form a new board of Trustees. As part of this growth, we are seeking to appoint a Finance Trustee to join us at this crucial time and play their part in shaping and delivering positive outcomes for our communities through cricket.
We are proud of our track record of engaging our diverse communities across Devon through cricket, but want to do more to grow the game, pioneer new ways to be more inclusive and representative of our county and create safe and welcoming environments for everyone to enjoy the benefits of cricket.
This is an exciting opportunity for people to join Devon Cricket during a pivotal stage of our evolution as an organisation.
As a Finance Trustee, you will help us to achieve our ambitions during this exciting stage of our growth as an organisation. Candidates will bring a passion for developing grassroots cricket opportunities across Devon, a willingness to be curious, challenging, and supportive in the pursuit of Devon Cricket Foundation’s aims and be collaborative and willing to embed themselves within the organisation.
To succeed in the role of Finance Trustee, you will have a proven track record of strategic financial leadership, the relevant professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar), strong relationship-building and mentoring skills, as well as knowledge of charity finance issues.
Devon Cricket recognises and encourages the benefits of greater board diversity and an inclusive culture. As such, we are keenly looking to build a more representative board and welcome all applications, particularly those from individuals from under-represented ethnic or socio-economic backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ community and those with disabilities.
Previous board experience is not essential, nor is it necessary to be directly involved in cricket, although a willingness to get to know the sport and a commitment to enable our vision is.
