Founded in 2000, Ecology Project International (EPI) is a dynamic and innovative non-profit organization that focuses on engaging and empowering young people in hands-on conservation and science projects in North and Central America, with staff in the US, Mexico and Costa Rica. Our mission is to inspire youth with nature and empower them with science, fostering tomorrow's leaders. We envision a diverse movement building communities that cherish and restore the ecosystems that sustain them.
EPI is structured for sustainability. Drawing on tuition dollars from our visiting science-based & conservation programming, the generosity of donors and funders, and the efforts of scientists, we run programs that address environmental issues today while developing environmental leaders for tomorrow. All of EPI's education programs utilize conservation projects, partnerships with scientists, and engagement with local communities.
EPI is headquartered in Missoula, MT, running a Yellowstone Program out of this office, and with additional program sites in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Belize with up to 62 staff across these four locations.
