Since opening in 2010, the Academy has gone from strength to strength and is proud to be part of the Skinners’ Academies Trust, a collaborative Trust of five high-performing schools in Kent and London.
Situated on the border of Hackney and Haringey, we are proud of our richly diverse student community. Our mission is to encourage each of those pupils to “be the best they can be” in an inclusive learning environment that is inspiring, exciting and motivating.
We are now looking for someone to grasp this exciting opportunity to continue to take our fantastic school forward and support the growth of a positive school culture through three central pillars:
As a values-driven organisation, we place aspiration, excellence, opportunity and inclusivity at the heart of everything we do. You will inherit a passionate, experienced staff, wonderful children, engaged parents, high-quality facilities and a committed governing body.
We are seeking an exceptional, experienced leader who can build on the strong practice already in place to lead the Academy to its goal of becoming an outstanding school; and who can embed the school in the local community as a confident ambassador and advocate for the Skinners’ Academy students and staff.
The successful candidate will therefore be ambitious for the Academy, with a track record of developing high performing teams and enhancing teaching and learning. As an advocate for excellence, inclusivity and agency, their belief in the power of education to promote social mobility and address disadvantage will be essential. They will have the energy, vison, strategic thinking, skilled people management and relationship-based approaches to lead us onto the next stage of our school's evolution.
The closing date for applications is 08:30 am GMT on Monday 4 March 2024.
Skinners’ Academy is committed to equality, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all staff. We are an equal opportunities employer that recruits on merit and we welcome applications from all members of the community.
