The Invictus Games Foundation was established in 2014 following the inaugural Games in London.

Returning from deployment in Afghanistan, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, watched as the coffin of a Danish Soldier was loaded aboard for repatriation, alongside three injured British soldiers. That moment had a profound impact on him and, following a visit to the US Warrior Games in 2013, he was inspired to create the international Invictus Games to celebrate the unconquered human spirit, and shine a spotlight on these men and women who served.

The Invictus Games Foundation offers a recovery pathway for international wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women (WIS). We collaborate to provide opportunities for post-traumatic growth: enabling those involved to reclaim their purpose, identity and future, beyond injury.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to collaborate closely with members of the Executive Team and Board of Trustees to develop a holistic commercial and philanthropic fundraising strategy that will position the Invictus Games Foundation to maximise its long-term, global impact.

As Development and Advancement Director you will have a platform to build and deepen the Invictus Games Foundation’s brand globally, identify and capitalise on opportunities to diversify its income streams in all respects, and manage strategically important relationships with a range of existing and potential partners.

To succeed in this role, you will share the Invictus Games Foundation’s belief that sport has the power to help servicemen and women suffering from a range of illnesses and injuries. You will need to be able to draw on a demonstrable track record of building and managing significant commercial and high-level donor relationships globally, and excel at effectively managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Candidates wishing to apply should submit a CV (including comprehensive details of key achievements and responsibilities) along with a covering letter which fully addresses the competencies outlined in the role description and person specification quoting reference number 7255.

The closing date for applications is 9am BST on Thursday 9th May 2024.
