Join us in our mission to create a sustainable future for generations to come.

We're on a mission to safeguard our planet and ensure a future where people and nature can thrive together so that by 2030 the loss of nature has halted, and its recovery has begun. As one of the world's largest independent environmental and conservation organisations, WWF is active in nearly 100 countries, working to tackle the pressing issues of our time. From stopping deforestation to bringing nature back from the brink and delivering a resilient, prosperous, and sustainable UK, we're dedicated to creating real, lasting change.

We’re working globally and in partnership with communities, governments, companies and others who have the will to act and transform our world. We collaborate closely with local and indigenous communities, so our work is best placed to help people and wildlife thrive together. We are inspiring a global movement of people and creating a public mandate through our supporters and millions of concerned members of the public to ensure that restoring nature is put at the heart of all the decisions we make in our everyday lives.

About the role

We are in search of an outstanding leader to assume the role of Executive Director of People and Culture. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer with a dotted line to the CEO, and as a member of the Executive Team, the Executive Director of People and Culture will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our organisation thrives with a talented and diverse workforce, all in the interest of driving forward our mission to solve the nature and climate crisis. The Executive Director of People and Culture will lead WWF-UK's people and culture work, define and deliver a strategic people plan, drive inclusive leadership and talent development, enable strong  employee engagement, embed our values across all the work we do, and play a key role in supporting the people and culture strategy of the WWF global network.

This role presents a distinctive opportunity for an individual driven by a sincere passion for nurturing a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will bring senior leadership experience across people and culture disciplines in complex organisations. You will understand strategic people planning, from vision to strategic goals, monitoring and evaluation and demonstrate commercial acumen. You will embody the qualities of a seasoned people leader, adept at fostering collaboration and empowerment with an understanding and experience of building and leading equitable, diverse, and inclusive teams and programmes. Above all else, the ideal candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, bringing both warmth and strength, and enabling them to connect authentically and work collaboratively across disciplines within a fast-moving environment.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification. The deadline for applications is 09.00 BST on Monday 3rd June.

The role will be contracted to work from the Living Planet Centre, Woking, with flexibility to work from home.
