Reall’s vision is housing markets that work for people, prosperity and planet. Reall is improving the lives of under-served households in African and Asian cities by building and increasing access to green resilient homes. We create the conditions for families to secure their own homes. Globally, there are 1.2 billion people without somewhere decent to call home; working across our five priority markets, (Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda in Africa and India and Pakistan in Asia) and beyond, Reall has a commercially and environmentally viable solution that drives macroeconomic development and catalyses pathways to net zero.

We have been pioneers and thought leaders in the global affordable housing space for more than 30 years and to date we have improved the lives of over three million people, created over 200,000 jobs, brought clean water to half a million people and delivered sustainable sanitation to over a million.

We are now seeking to appoint a new Chair as Chris Loughlin steps down from the board following 5 years of exceptional service to Reall. We are also looking to appoint two new Trustees to our main board, as well as two Independent Directors to the board of our commercial subsidiary, Green City Homes International (GCHI).

We aim to appoint a highly accomplished Chair with excellent financial and business acumen together with the energy, passion, and inspiration to support our efforts to transform the lives of people on low incomes across Africa and Asia. This is a significant opportunity for individuals with the strategic focus, governance understanding, leadership experience and emotional intelligence, to lead and work alongside a high performing Board, to ensure that it provides the right blend of support and challenge to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team.

The boards of both Reall and GCHI require individuals well networked across relevant sectors with highly attuned skills and extensive experience in strategic leadership in an international setting. We are particularly looking for those with experience in investment, housing, infrastructure, business development, urbanisation, not-for-profits, multilaterals and bilaterals, foundations or other relevant sectors. Core skillsets in finance, investment, funding in impact and development finance, construction and project management, urban and real estate planning, commercial and legal negotiations, and knowledge of institutional investors is highly desirable. We are keen to recruit Trustees and Independent Directors with experience in the parts of the world we operate in to achieve our mission.

If you are a strategic, impact focused, leader with demonstrable experience and success in one or more of the skillset areas we are seeking, as well as a clear alignment with the values and behaviours, vision, and mission of Reall, then we look forward to hearing from you.
