Appointment of Programme Manager People/Livelihoods (Refugee Livelihoods)

The IKEA Foundation is seeking an experienced Programme Manager for our People pillar with a focus on refugee livelihoods to strengthen the team.

The Programme Manager – People/Livelihoods is responsible for co-developing and managing grants in the People pillar of the IKEA Foundation, with a particular focus on refugee-livelihoods initiatives.  Together with the broader team at the IKEA Foundation, the Programme Manager plays a leading role in operationalizing programme strategies into impactful funding partnerships that fulfil the mission and vision of the IKEA Foundation, and are underpinned by responsible and effective spending of available funding.  

The IKEA Foundation is seeking an individual with a proven track record in working on topics related to livelihoods in refugee and displacement contexts with a strong affinity to the broader themes of the IKEA Foundation, in particular agriculture, renewable energy, or green entrepreneurship.  Prior professional experience in developing/managing partnerships in the development-humanitarian nexus is an advantage. The successful candidate should have proven project management experience, strong relationship management skills, a good understanding of the philanthropic sector and be a collaborative team player. Above all, they will demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the IKEA Foundation.

As Programme Manager, you will be part of a small but enthusiastic team of people committed to making a difference. You will report to the Head of Portfolio, Refugee Livelihoods. You will also work closely with the team’s support functions in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Grant Operations and Communications. The position is 38 hours, based at the Foundation’s office in Leiden, the Netherlands.

Perrett Laver will conduct an executive search process in parallel with the public advertisement of the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview with Perrett Laver week commencing the 24th of June and the 1st of July. The Selection Panel will subsequently meet to decide upon a final shortlist followed by informal meetings with the IKEA Foundation and then subsequent formal interviews. The first round of interviews will take place on Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th of July. The second round interviews will take place the week commencing 22nd July.
