Founded in Beijing’s Zhongguancun Life Science Park in October 2020, Changping Laboratory (CPL) is one of China's national laboratories and new type of R&D institutions. Led by world-renowned scientist Professor Xiaoliang Sunney Xie, CPL engages in breakthrough research and knowledge transfer in life sciences. Focusing on areas such as genomic medicine, immune diagnosis and treatment, and advanced imaging and intervention, CPL aims to become a world-class innovation hub.

 

Changping Laboratory invites applications for the position of Co-Principal Investigator in Artificial Intelligence for Biomolecular Sciences.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct innovative research projects;
  • Publish research work in top-tier venues appropriate for their outputs;
  • Nurture junior team members through research supervision;
  • Provide administrative services as required.

 

Requirements

  • A PhD degree in biological sciences, bioinformatics, biomedical data science, computational biology or other relevant fields. Expertise on DNA-Protein interactions and binding will be an advantage;
  • Experience as a postdoctoral fellow or early career research scientist at leading universities or research institutions;
  • A promising track record of publications, grants and research projects;
  • Experience in large biomedical databases, particularly AlphaFold Protein Structure Database or UK Biobank;
  • Experience in the application of deep learning or machine learning algorithms and libraries to the study of life sciences;
  • Outstanding communication skills with a strong team spirit and responsibility.

To enable scientists to devote themselves to research and innovation, CPL will provide comprehensive research support services, including but not limited to:

  1. Sufficient and stable research funding;
  2. Sufficient office and laboratory space, with world-class experimental facilities and technical platforms;
  3. Opportunities for outstanding young talents to lead key projects, play major roles in collaborative research, and apply for national or municipal talent or funding programs;
  4. Policies and mechanisms to support, recognize and reward technology transfer.

 

Remuneration and Benefits

  1. Internationally competitive salary, which can be further negotiated for exceptional individuals;
  2. Benefits including social security, housing allowance, pension, and additional benefits such as medical insurance for dependents, critical illness allowance, and annual medical check-up;
  3. CPL will support eligible individuals in applying for household registration registration (Hukou户口) in Beijing in accordance with relevant policies, and addressing needs such as children's education, spouse employment, and work permits for foreign talents.
