Founded in Beijing’s Zhongguancun Life Science Park in October 2020, Changping Laboratory (CPL) is one of China's national laboratories and new type of R&D institutions. Led by world-renowned scientist Professor Xiaoliang Sunney Xie, CPL engages in breakthrough research and knowledge transfer in life sciences. Focusing on areas such as genomic medicine, immune diagnosis and treatment, and advanced imaging and intervention, CPL aims to become a world-class innovation hub.

Changping Laboratory invites applications for the position of Head of Department of Key Research Technology Platform.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the Department’s planning, team building and operations;
• Managing the procurement of equipment, and leading the development and innovation in technology and research support services;
• Maintaining and strengthening CPL’s internal system and processes;
• Coordinating the allocation of manpower, equipment and resources, ensuring that all laboratories and research facilities operate efficiently;
• Developing external partnerships with other research institutions;
• Any other tasks assigned by CPL’s senior leadership.

Requirements

• A PhD degree in life science or medicine;
• Strong passion and interest in supporting life science research;
• 5 or more years of experience in managing laboratories or facilities at universities or research institutions. Experience in leading such platforms at top institutions in the world will be an advantage;
• Strategic vision, global outlook and forward thinking on technological and sectoral development in the future, with the ability to drive innovation and growth of the Key Research Technology Platform;
• Strong managerial skills, work ethic and team spirit, and the ability to work under pressure.
