Advancing the transition towards climate neutrality in Germany, Europe and the world with cutting edge analysis and impactful policy strategies

Agora Industry is a mission-driven non-partisan think tank, independent of government and business interests, looking to build a bridge between research and political decision-making.  Our exclusive mission is to serve the goal of climate neutrality. Emerging from the think tank Agora Energiewende in 2021, Agora Industry is aiming to strengthen and expand the work on climate-neutral energy, developing solutions for the efficient use of energy and resources along the value-creation chain at national, European, and global levels.

Agora Industry is now seeking a new Director Industry to build upon the work and take the organisation to the next stage. As part of Agora’s senior management team, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the organisation with a focus on industrial transformation, overseeing a talented and committed interdisciplinary and global team, and giving voice to its analysis and policy recommendations within the field of industry decarbonisation, representing Agora with a range of external stakeholders.

The Director Industry will bring over 15 years of relevant experience in energy and climate policy within the industry sector, and a proven track record of team management in a think tank or similar setting. You will have access to a robust professional network with emphasis on close connections to the global south, possess political acumen, excellent English communications skills, and most of all, show a clear commitment to our mission.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification to https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/  quoting reference 7335AI. The closing date for applications is at 9 am CET on Wednesday 20th November. For any advice on submitting your application or for an initial conversation in confidence, please contact Tiziano Sartor tiziano.sartor@perrettlaver.com

The role will be based in (preferably) Berlin or Brussels. The salary will be commensurate with comparable positions in Berlin-based organisations. The position includes the ability to work in a full- or part-time capacity.

We are particularly pleased to receive applications from people from groups that have been underrepresented in climate and industry policy. We welcome applications regardless of gender and gender identity, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability and age, and sexual orientation.
