Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for a distinguished professor in the field of innovation or entrepreneurship.

A premier university in Asia, SMU is recognised for its world class research and exceptional education programmes. Founded only in 2000, SMU offers a transformative education for a new generation of graduates and leaders, and a multi-disciplinary research environment that helps tackle the complexities and disruptions of today’s world. The University is home to the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), one of Asia’s premier business schools. The School has grown rapidly and despite its young age, it has earned the ‘Triple Crown Accreditation’: AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. In the most FT research rankings, SMU ranked 26th worldwide.

LKCSB is now seeking to appoint an established scholar in innovation and/or entrepreneurship from any business discipline relevant to the School. This is an outstanding opportunity for a distinguished scholar to promote the further development of the Business School’s ‘entrepreneurship & innovation research peak’ that brings together close to 30 affiliated faculty members from a variety of discipline areas; faculty members have been attracted to SMU from leading universities and business schools such as INSEAD, Indiana, London Business School, Columbia, Erasmus, Carnegie, Stanford, and Georgia Tech among others.

The successful candidate, who will have an outstanding track record advancing relevant research and education programs, will join a vibrant environment offering a broad range of activities, including the recently launched Masters in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, the incubation of almost 500 startups which have collectively raised over S$500 million in funding, or the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition, one of Asia’s largest university-led startup competitions, attracting over 850 teams from more than 60 countries, providing a global platform for aspiring entrepreneurs. Opportunities at SMU and existing partners are amplified by Singapore’s standing and growing profile as global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
