The University is presently seeking to appoint a new Associate Vice President (Technology Transfer), reporting to the Vice President, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished and dynamic professional to lead a bold and ambitious technology transfer strategy. The incumbent will oversee all activity relating to technology transfer, encompassing – with the objective to achieve significant growth overall - the identification of promising and commercially viable projects; mentorship and guidance of venture builders; management and improvement of processes related, for example, to invention assessment, patent and market analysis, patent filing and prosecution; engagement with venture capital, building and enlarging relevant network; identification of markets, and developing and executing on strategies for new technologies to enter markets.

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated track record in technology transfer and/or related business experience that includes developing start-up companies (particularly deep tech start-ups), structuring and negotiating deals and complex contracts, nurturing a culture of innovation, leveraging and growing networks that enable technology transfer activities at levels of scale and impact fitting the profile of one of the world’s leading universities of technology. A real flair for building relationships with campus creators and inventors as well as corporations, investors and entrepreneurs to get research out of the labs and studios into the world where it can be put to the greatest use will be essential. So will be the demonstrated commitment to lead, develop and inspire exceptional teams.
