Following the recent appointments of our Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Wrexham University are developing a new Vision and Strategy to 2030, and as part of that process, we are seeking a dynamic and impactful Pro Vice-Chancellor External Engagement and Partnerships to join us in developing sustainable, long-term partnerships, which make a positive difference, locally, nationally and internationally.
Comprising of over 10,000 students, of which 10% are international students, our academic portfolio covers four domains across two Faculties, representing areas of distinctive strength: Health and Social Sciences; Science, Technology and Engineering; Business; Creative Industries. Working with the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the wider Executive Team, the role will include building strong alliances with the Wrexham City leaders, local, regional and national authorities, and also our collaborative partners, including F.E. Colleges, both nationally and internationally. Engagement with businesses and development bodies, such as the North-East Wales Investment Zone, will be a key aspect of this role and will require the successful post holder to demonstrate they can build authentic and trusting relationships across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor External Engagement and Partnerships will be joining a Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Team, committed to excellence, and as a member of VCET will be a member of, and engage with, a range of central committees. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, External Engagement and Partnerships, will provide strategic direction for building and maintaining regional, national and international partnerships, whilst also having operational oversight of existing arrangements and the enhancement of international recruitment strategies, whilst also developing and enhancing our portfolio of international research partnerships.
We are looking for our Pro Vice-Chancellor to be commercial and entrepreneurial in approach, balancing strategic risk with reward, and ensuring the brand of Wrexham is protected and enhanced, whilst at the same time contributing to driving the regional economy. Working with the International Team, the PVC, External Engagement and Partnerships will be responsible for the formulation and delivery of our International Plan, which will sit as part of our ongoing development of the institutional strategic plan.
