We are seeking an exceptional individual to be our new university secretary. A key member of the university’s senior management team, with a dual reporting line to the warden and the chair of council, the postholder will ensure that Goldsmith’s internal governance structures are robust, efficient and transparent, and that the university meets its statutory obligations. They will provide support for the chair and university council, setting the highest standards of corporate governance in line with our charter, statutes and practice within the higher education sector. With Goldsmiths about to embark on a governance review, the postholder will lead an exercise with the power to have a transformative impact on the university’s governance.

An experienced governance leader, you will bring a developed understanding how effective governance structures and processes can support the effective running of a university or institution with a similar level of complexity. You will have outstanding communications and political skills, with an understanding of operating within a highly regulated environment, with experience working constructively with regulatory and statutory bodies, gained in a leadership role in higher education or an equivalent environment.
