At MSI, we believe that everyone should have the power to choose their own future, on their own terms.
Our mission goes beyond providing contraception and abortion services: we are empowering women and families with the right to choose when and if to have children – a decision that ripples across communities and generations. By enabling choice, we’re not just transforming individual lives – we’re creating resilient, healthy communities that are better equipped to navigate the challenges of today’s world.
We deliver life-saving and life-changing reproductive health services across 36 countries, with a focus on expanding access to contraception and abortion. We are a large organisation and seek commensurate impact: in 2023, 23.3 million people accessed our services, and we had total income of over £400 million generated through donations and our own commercial activities.
Our locally led national programmes form a global MSI partnership, supported by a global support office which sets the strategy, shares best practice and facilitates funding. With our expertise as a world-leading healthcare provider working across six continents, we advocate for sexual and reproductive rights and partner across sectors, strengthening health systems to offer quality reproductive health services. We have proudly supported more than 200 million women and girls since we started and continue to reach millions more each year with choices that transform their lives, communities and futures.
We’re looking for talented, inspirational and pioneering people to join our Board of Trustees and help us achieve our mission. The MSI Board of Trustees makes decisions on the big challenges facing the partnership, including our strategic direction, clinical practices, policies and processes, financial management and institutional integrity
We are looking for individuals who are leaders in their field, committed to our mission and unapologetically pro-choice. We are looking for candidates with a diverse range of skills and experience. These include a proven track record in delivering results in your area of expertise. MSI operates clinical services as a social business, and as such, is looking for Trustees with experience in business, commercial operations, clinical services and finance. Strong relationships with governments, regulators and international health bodies are highly valued, as well as experience in managing large, complex, customer-focused, multinational operations. Candidates should be skilled in scrutinising performance data and developing strategy. Leadership, and lived experience, in key MSI regions such as Africa and Asia, are highly desirable, alongside experience in governance practices, including chairing a Board or similar leadership roles.
You will bring skill, diversity of background and perspective, ambition, energy and experience to MSI. Our ‘social business’ approach means that you’ll find the culture fast-paced, professional and focused on results. As a Trustee, you will play a critical role in helping MSI Reproductive Choices achieve its vision of providing reproductive choice to everyone, everywhere. If you are a passionate, dynamic leader who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, we want to hear from you.
