The Daffodil Centre is a world-leading population and health services cancer research centre, providing key evidence to influence policy decisions and real-world improvements along the cancer continuum. It has a key focus on cancer prevention, screening, early detection and policy. The Centre is a collaboration with the University of Sydney and combines the complementary strengths of both organisations to create a centre of national and international research excellence where research results in real-world improvements to reduce the burden of cancer in the community. 

The Cancer Council NSW is seeking to appoint a Director to lead the Daffodil Centre for Cancer Council NSW. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of cancer research and a strong track record in the key research areas of prevention, screening, early detection and policy. In addition, strong leadership and networking capabilities are essential for this role. The Director, Daffodil Centre, Cancer Council NSW will work collaboratively with the University of Sydney Daffodil Centre Director to oversee the Daffodil Centre’s overarching strategic initiatives, research performance and community engagement. The role will be eligible to hold a conjoint academic appointment with the University of Sydney.  The Director will be a professorial experienced, accomplished researcher, coupled with sound financial acumen, governance, and communication skills.
