On a beautiful 34-acre site in the inspirational city of Oxford, Headington Rye Oxford offers a forward-thinking and contemporary education for girls and boys aged 3-11 and girls aged 11-18. Following the recent merger of Headington School with Rye St Antony, Headington Rye Oxford now offers its combination of academic excellence, co-curricular opportunity and expert pastoral care to 1,100 pupils.

The Head and Governors are now seeking a Bursar to succeed Richard Couzens who will step down after eleven years of dedicated service. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s most strategic and successful schools. The appointee will provide strong and forward-looking financial and operational leadership, ensuring that Headington Rye continues to have robust finances and outstanding support services whilst anticipating and preparing for the future needs of the School.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and flexible leader, possessing the organisational abilities and interpersonal skills to lead a high level of strategic and operational delivery in a complex environment. They will be familiar with business priorities in organisations of relevant complexity, have proven managerial capabilities, and deep empathy with the values and ethos of the School. Financial qualifications are desirable but not essential. Headington Rye Oxford welcomes candidates from school, commercial, non-profit and public sector settings.
