Directeur Bedrijfsvoering / CFO

Aidsfonds - Soa Aids Nederland is op zoek naar een financieel daadkrachtige en strategisch sterke CFO die verantwoordelijk is voor de financiële en operationele bedrijfsvoering. Als Directeur Bedrijfsvoering / CFO zorg je voor financiële duurzaamheid en optimaliseer je interne processen om de missie van de organisatie te ondersteunen. Deze rol is cruciaal in het vertalen van complexe financiële uitdagingen naar heldere strategische beslissingen, zodat middelen effectief worden ingezet om een wereld zonder aids te realiseren en seksuele gezondheid te bevorderen.

Als lid van het Management Team (MT) werk je nauw samen met de directeur en de drie andere managers om de strategische koers van de organisatie vorm te geven. Financiële en operationele stabiliteit zijn van cruciaal belang, vooral nu financieringsmogelijkheden in Nederland en internationaal verschuiven. Je houdt toezicht op budgettering, financiële controles, risicomanagement en compliance, zodat Aidsfonds - Soa Aids Nederland veerkrachtig blijft in een veranderend financieringslandschap.

Dit is een leiderschapsrol die vraagt om het vermogen complexe financiële scenario's te doorgronden, terwijl je tegelijkertijd innovatie en operationele efficiëntie stimuleert. Naast financieel leiderschap zul je verbeteringen doorvoeren op het gebied van HR-, ICT- en facilitaire processen, zodat interne structuren de bredere missie van de organisatie ondersteunen. Je leiderschap is gericht op samenwerking en strategie, waarbij je financiële beslissingen afstemt op lange termijn duurzaamheid en tegelijkertijd transparantie en vertrouwen binnen de organisatie waarborgt.

De functie is beschikbaar voor 32 of 36 uur per week en is gevestigd in Amsterdam, met de mogelijkheid om hybride te werken.

Afdeling en verantwoordelijkheden

De CFO geeft leiding aan een afdeling bestaande uit Finance, Business Control, HR, ICT en Facilities en stuurt een team van 19 professionals aan (die deels opereren onder twee teamleiders). Hoewel deze teams relatief zelfstandig opereren, zorgt sterk leiderschap van de CFO voor strategische afstemming en bewaakt het operationele efficiëntie.

Financiën en Business Control vormen de kern van de verantwoordelijkheden van de CFO. Dit omvat toezicht op de financiële rapportage, compliance en het risicobeheer. Business Control, de grootste operationele eenheid onder leiding van een teamleider, is verantwoordelijk voor financiële planning en naleving van regelgeving. Het HR-team, eveneens geleid door een teamleider, richt zich op personeelsbeleid en organisatieontwikkeling. ICT is uitbesteed en vereist actief toezicht op beveiliging en efficiëntie, terwijl Facilities zorgt voor een goed functionerende werkomgeving en infrastructuur.

Naast financieel toezicht speelt de CFO een cruciale rol in strategische planning door financiële inzichten te vertalen naar besluitvorming op hoog niveau. Dit omvat risicobeoordeling, diversificatie van financieringsstromen en naleving van de AVG en de Nederlandse arbeidswetgeving. Daarnaast stimuleert de CFO teamontwikkeling en versterkt dienend leiderschap binnen de organisatiecultuur, waarbij medewerkers worden gecoacht om te groeien in hun rol.

Director of Operations / CFO

Aidsfonds - Soa Aids Nederland is seeking a financially strong and strategically skilled CFO to oversee its financial and operational management. As Director of Operations / CFO, you will ensure financial sustainability while optimizing internal processes to support the organization’s mission. This role is crucial in translating complex financial challenges into clear strategic decisions, ensuring resources are effectively managed to achieve a world without AIDS and where people are sexually healthy.

You will be part of the Management Team (MT), working alongside the Managing Director and three other directors to shape the organization’s strategic direction. Financial and operational stability are critical, especially as governmental funding priorities shift in the Netherlands and internationally. You will oversee budgeting, financial controls, risk management, and compliance, ensuring Aidsfonds - Soa Aids Nederland remains resilient in an evolving funding landscape.

This is a leadership-driven role requiring the ability to navigate complex financial scenarios while fostering innovation and operational efficiency. In addition to financial leadership, you will drive improvements across HR, ICT, and Facilities, ensuring that internal processes support the broader mission. Your leadership should be collaborative and strategic, aligning financial decisions with long-term sustainability while maintaining transparency and trust across the organization.

Department and Responsibilities

The CFO leads a department comprised of Finance, Business Control, HR, ICT, and Facilities units, managing a team of 19 professionals. While these teams operate independently, strong leadership ensures strategic alignment and operational efficiency.

Finance and Business Control are at the core of the CFO’s responsibilities, overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and risk management. Business Control, led by a  team leader, is the largest operational unit, ensuring financial planning and regulatory alignment. The HR team, led by a team leader, focuses on workforce management and organizational development. ICT is outsourced, requiring oversight to maintain security and efficiency, while Facilities ensures the effective functioning of office operations and infrastructure.

Beyond financial oversight, the CFO plays a critical role in strategic planning, integrating financial insights into high-level decision-making. This includes risk assessment, funding diversification, and ensuring legal compliance with GDPR (AVG) and Dutch labor law. The CFO also fosters team development, embedding servant leadership in the organization’s culture while coaching leaders and staff to grow within their roles.
