ECU, Provost and Vice President

Since 1991, ECU has reshaped the way higher education is delivered.

Located in Western Australia, our dedication to providing industry-relevant teaching and research, supportive student experiences and award-winning facilities enable ECU students to think outside of the box, to use creativity to tackle challenges and seize opportunities. Our courses are developed in consultation with industry and our teaching staff bring extensive knowledge and networks to engage and inspire students.

ECU's higher education delivery approach has been rewarded with five-star ratings for undergraduate teaching quality for the past 17 consecutive years, with top ratings for overall experience, learning resources, skills development, and student support, in the Good Universities Guide, Australia's largest course comparison website. ECU's world-class research delivers meaningful real-world impact and solutions to some of our greatest global challenges. We work closely with local communities and industry partners to provide our students with the best opportunities to gain the sought-after skills that will enable them to flourish beyond study.

ECU’s campuses offer engaging and innovative environments for staff and students to flourish, and spaces where both campus and community can come together. Our City Campus, in Perth’s CBD, will open this year. With a focus on the integration of the Creative Industries, Business, and Technology, the ECU City Campus represents the future of university education — urban, connected, integrated with business and community — part of the life blood of a thriving city.

We are now seeking to fill the role of Provost and Vice President, a new addition to the University’s Executive Leadership Team. Working in close collaboration with the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, and senior leaders, the Provost will lead the academic community, ensuring ECU maintains and enhances its reputation both nationally and internationally and that the University's strategic priorities are achieved. The Provost will play a key role in the development and management of key external partnerships for the University and will foster an environment that encourages innovation in teaching, learning, and research, ensuring ECU adapts to emerging trends and technologies to ensure the University remains at the forefront of higher education.

The successful candidate will bring extensive leadership within a complex higher education environment with a demonstrated track record of achieving strategic objectives and working across a large and diverse institution. With superior communication and interpersonal abilities and a proven ability to navigate complex, multifaceted organisational landscapes, the Provost will also demonstrate a strong alignment with ECU’s core values and a commitment to upholding the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
