Munich International School (MIS) has a rich heritage as a pioneer in international education. Founded in 1966 as one of the world’s first international schools, we are a not-for-profit global learning community of 1300+ students from over 60 different nationalities. Our 26-acre campus, bordered by forest and with federally protected views of the Bavarian Alps, provides an inspiring learning environment and backdrop to our mission to nurture students through challenge.
The Board of Directors now seek an exceptional leader to join our community as our next Head of School. We believe an outstanding international education enables students to discover their dreams through real world learning, to think big, build resilience and set ambitious goals. Our new Head of School will lead us into an exciting new chapter as we address the challenges facing the children of tomorrow. This is a wonderful opportunity to shape the future of an exceptional school and further strengthen our position as a leader in international education.
The successful candidate will be an experienced educator with the vision and strategic skills to build on a strong foundation and guide one of Europe’s leading international schools. Our next Head of School will bring leadership experience, demonstrated financial and business acumen, strategic agility and a forward thinking approach to international education. A clear vision for excellence together with the ambition, creativity, and resilience to lead effective and relevant change is essential, as is a genuine resonance with the values that unite our global community. German language (or conversational German) is required.
