Dedicated to driving climate-focused philanthropy and advocacy in Asia.

Asia has a pressing need to intensify action in response to climate change, which threatens to cause economic losses of up to USD 57 billion and increase the population living in poverty to 200 million by 2040. Significant wealth growth in the region offers a unique opportunity for Asian philanthropists to catalyse climate action as climate giving has not kept pace - currently 2% of global philanthropic funding goes towards climate, with only 12% of that going to Asia (WEF, 2023). The Asia Climate Philanthropy Advisory will be the first of its kind in the region dedicated to gravitating Asian philanthropists towards climate by empowering them to make strategic, impactful contributions.

Headquartered in Singapore and incubated by several leading philanthropists and climate foundations in Asia and around the world, the Advisory is uniquely positioned to support ultra-high-net-worth individuals by providing bespoke advisory support, curated local climate knowledge, carefully vetted giving opportunities, and access to a diverse network of climate-focused experts, peers and partners. The Advisory aims to raise a significant amount of philanthropic funding in the next 5 years to catalyse Asia-led climate solutions at speed and scale.

The Asia Climate Philanthropy Advisory is now seeking an inspirational leader to join as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO), overseeing its founding and growth strategy. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will build a team and culture grounded in its values, and lead the growth strategy to engage high-potential philanthropic donors to advance climate action. The CEO will work in partnership with an existing network of funders, philanthropic intermediaries and partner organisations with immense expertise, and promote strategic efforts to engage civil society organisations, policymakers, researchers and private sector actors.

The ideal candidate will bring vision, enthusiasm and a readiness to significantly increase climate philanthropy in the region. With a successful track record in resource mobilisation, the CEO will possess knowledge of climate-related issues and sectors, extensive networks with key stakeholders in Asia, and experience in securing large-ticket funding deals. The successful candidate will combine a strong strategic vision, excellent communication and people skills, along with credibility with a strong commitment to the Advisory’s values. Notably, the Advisory’s first CEO will possess an entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in fast-paced, innovative environments, and is energised by building impactful, new ventures, that address climate change on a global scale.

If you are excited by the prospect of leading and forming a dynamic and fast-growing international organisation dedicated to addressing the climate crisis in Asia, then the Asian Climate Philanthropy Advisory wants to hear from you.

The Asia Climate Philanthropy Advisory will be supported in its global search for this appointment by the executive search firm, Perrett Laver. To apply, please submit a CV and cover letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and specification, to Kieran.Pollentine@perrettlaver.com quoting reference 7788.

The deadline for applications is Friday 4th April 2025 at 12:00PM Singapore Time.

The salary is commensurate with the seniority of the appointment. Longlisted candidates will be invited to first conversations in mid-April and the Selection Panel will subsequently meet to decide upon a shortlist for the post, following which interviews with the Asia Climate Philanthropy Advisory will take place thereafter.
