Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN)

AURIN is a national research infrastructure that provides resources for academics, industry and policy makers across the three tiers of government. It enables researchers and planners to make informed decisions about future infrastructure and urban environments based on realistic scenarios and evidence-based analysis. Initially funded by the Australian Government under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) and associated programs, the Network has recently secured additional Government funding until 2022. The Network will continue to be hosted by The University of Melbourne.

This is a critical time for AURIN as it moves to its next funding phase and will require a leader who can promote the network and secure the longevity of the infrastructure. The Director will be expected to ensure the infrastructure is robust, appropriate to the user community and viable over the long-term, including through strategic liaison with stakeholders, co-investors and participants in AURIN. The Director will lead and manage the AURIN office and team, work closely with the Chair of the Management Board and senior leadership of the University. The position requires an individual with a demonstrated track record in urban research or understanding of collaborative urban research or e-research with the ability to appreciate the requirements of end-users and to ensure these are appropriately addressed.
