Lumos Foundation - Appointment of Global Advocacy and Campaigning Director (3713)

Children belong in families – not orphanages

Lumos is an international non-governmental, non-profit organization founded by J.K. Rowling to end the institutionalization of children by 2050. Our vision is a world in which all children have the opportunity to grow up and thrive in a safe and caring family or, where there is no alternative, in specialist placements that meet all their needs, respect their rights and ensure they can fulfill their potential.

At a pivotal moment in its development, Lumos is poised to make a step-change in the delivery of its mission. Strengthening advocacy and campaigning is key to the success of Lumos as a global organization, and to ensuring sustainable change at the highest levels. Over the next 5 years, Lumos’ advocacy will grow from being largely EU-focused to influencing policy and funding across a broad range of decision-makers and donors and plans to significantly increase its public campaigning. As part of this development, Lumos Foundation is seeking a Global Advocacy and Campaigning Director reporting to the Executive Director of Lumos Foundation USA and coordinating the advocacy and campaigning strategy of the organization.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in advocacy and campaigns at the global level; a proven track record in influencing policy and practice across a range of actors such as governments, international organizations, NGOs, faith-based organizations, and/or funders; experience in developing global advocacy and campaigning strategies; a track record of managing dynamic international teams; as well as excellent communications skills to effectively represent Lumos Foundation. Most importantly, our next Global Advocacy and Campaigning Director will be strongly aligned with our values and will be passionately committed to our mission.
