World Resources Institute: Appointment of Global Director, Climate Program
Climate change is an urgent threat to humanity that demands swift, decisive action.
We seek a Global Director to lead WRI’s Global Climate Program and drive positive action toward achieving a zero-carbon future at the national and international level.
Tapping into your international network of key players, your proven track record of advancing ideas that have accelerated the pace and change of climate action by working in partnership and forging coalitions, you will work with countries around the world to advance their climate policies. You will manage our work on climate change and guide our strategy in helping countries, governments, the private sector and individuals increase their ambition toward achieving the Paris Agreement goals.
As the head of our Climate program, you will lead our team of experts around the world and work closely with the heads of our international offices to develop and implement strategies, and scale and maximize impact. Working closely with our management team and partners, you will share your combination of deep climate policy experience, strategic vision, partnership development, people management, fundraising, effective media relations skills, and a firm commitment to the values of our organization.

Our work focuses on six critical issues at the intersection of environment and development: climate, energy, food, forests, water, and cities and transport.
Our role is to help businesses, policymakers and civil society at the local, national and international levels advance the deep structural shifts necessary to address climate change. We focus on ensuring near-term decisions align with our long-term goals so all people can benefit from a safer world and thriving economies.
