The Invictus Games Foundation was established following the success of the Invictus Games 2014.  HRH The Duke of Sussex and the organising committee of the London Games always hoped that this would represent the beginning of the ‘Invictus’ story, and that other cities and countries around the world would take up the challenge; in October, the fourth Games will be hosted in Sydney, and the legacy of the Games is set to continue in 2020 at The Hague, proving the success of the original blueprint and inspiring many more ‘wounded warriors’ on their journey of recovery.

The Foundation are committed to continuing the legacy of the Games and exist to maximise their impact and ensure that they continue to adhere to the high-standards set.

The Foundation are now seeking to appoint a Development Director to join their growing team, and to support the Foundation as it moves forward on to the next phase of its already incredible journey.

As a key executive member of an evolving, dynamic team, the Development Director will report to the CEO and work closely with the Trustees to identify philanthropic opportunities and develop long-term funding strategies which will ensure the sustainability of the Foundation. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a significant track record of building and managing high-level donor relationships and securing substantial (six figure) gifts. They will also bring evidence of managing complex stakeholder relationships and a nuanced leadership style, with the requisite gravitas and credibility to engage at the highest level. Critically they will have a “can do” approach and entrepreneurial style, with a keen eye for detail and strategic outlook. They will be a self-starter with a high level of motivation, and the ability to operationalise strategy. Finally, they will be highly motivated by the mission of the Foundation, sharing in the belief of the power of sport to change lives.

The Invictus Games Foundation will be supported in this appointment by executive search firm, Perrett Laver.
