Associate Dean International, Faculty of Engineering

Established in 1949, UNSW is already one of the world’s leading universities, currently ranked 45th in the world (QS) and distinguished by pioneering research with a focus on the scientific, technological and professional disciplines. UNSW is currently implementing its 2025 strategy and its ambition for the next decade is nothing less than to establish UNSW as Australia’s global university.

The Faculty of Engineering at UNSW is a national and international leader in engineering research and education. It is the largest Engineering Faculty in Australia, graduating the largest number of engineers and with the largest research expenditure. In 2017, total student enrolment was almost 15,500, including Australia’s largest number of international students studying Engineering.

UNSW’s Faculty of Engineering is currently seeking an Associate Dean International. Reporting to the Dean (Professor Mark Hoffman), the Associate Dean International is a senior leadership role in UNSW Engineering. The Associate Dean International supports the Dean by providing sound strategic advice and support to develop and implement the Faculty’s international strategic direction.

The appointee will play a crucial role in building further the international profile of the Faculty of Engineering which includes significant international research partnerships with both industry and leading international universities. They will display a deep appreciation of the transnational education landscape as it relates to the development of both new international education models and research partnerships. They will also be a proven institutional leader, adept at managing stakeholders at all levels and with demonstrated experience of developing strategic international initiatives for the benefit of a School, Faculty, or University.
